There is a growing trend among Chinese Moms to rest in a traditional way
during first month of their baby for their own health in addition to nursing
her baby. The Chinese tradition is quite contrast to Western culture
where Doctors encourage Moms to go back to normal life ASAP after giving
birth, such as drinking cold drinks, going out exercise and even
swimming. The Chinese tradition encourages Moms to take more rest and
relaxation while discouraging exterior trips. Special recipes play a key
role in this month too (so called ZuoYueZi). Story goes that first month
Moms hire special cook just for caring. We also discourage first month
Moms to cook outside using our Stove products. The recipes are provided in

First break the egg shell and fry in a
non-stick wok or pan (so called lotus eggs). Pour in a bowl of
glutinous wine. Boil together with the eggs. Add a little
sugar and it is ready for Mom. 先将鸡蛋壳打烂后整个鸡蛋放进不粘锅中煎熟(俗称煎荷包蛋),然后把糯米酒约一碗,倒入锅中与鸡蛋一起煮沸,再加入少量白糖即可吃。 |

2. Eggs in Vinegar (醋姜蛋(prepare
a week or half month before due date. 需提前一个星期或半个月制作))

Put the sweet vinegar into a porcelain.
Boil. Add eggs and ginger pieces. Boil. Boil
once a day afterward. Cool outside of refrigerator. After
giving birth, Mom needs to eat a bowl and an egg as appetizer before
dinner. 用一个砂锅装三斤左右的甜醋,并煮沸,然后将鸡蛋、姜全放进砂锅里,并煮沸,每天要煮沸一次,让其自然冷却,不要揭锅盖,不会坏的。产育后,产妇要求每天晚餐前吃一小碗及一个鸡蛋,再吃正餐。 |
| Cautions (说明): |
Baby might feel Mom's milk too warm because
of ginger. If this is the case, Mom can reduce the number of
intakes to such as once every two/three days or even stop. Can add
in more sweet vinegar, eggs and ginger. Cook the same way everyday
and let cool naturally. 因放姜,如感觉小孩吃奶后感觉有热气,产妇则可隔天或隔两天吃一次(或停吃)。中间可加甜醋、鸡蛋及姜,做法按上述要求制作。要注意每天需煮沸一次并自然放冷。 |

3. Pork Stomach Stew 炖猪肚(eat
once every three days 一般三天吃一次)

| Cook (做法): |
Boil a pot of hot water (around 80C).
Remove the water from heat source. Turn the stomach inside out and
submerge into the hot water. Clean thoroughly with starch three
times. Use little salt to clean as the last time. Rinse with
water. Dry out. Add in the peppers into the stomach. Seal
its mouth with thread. Put the stomach into a porcelain pot with
some clean water. Boil using high heat. Then return to small
flame to cook the stomach thoroughly. Once done, pick the stomach
up to remove the peppers. Cut the stomach into thin slices.
It is ready to eat. Soup can be sautéed and added in coriander to
taste. 用炒菜锅烧一锅热水(80℃左右),将猪肚翻出内面,将整个猪肚浸入热水中,去其脏物,里外用生粉揉擦,用水清洗,用生粉来回清冼三遍,最后再用盐里外冼一遍。将糊椒粒放进猪肚里,用牙签或针线将猪肚逢口,再放入砂锅里加适量水猛火煮沸后再用慢火熬熟,捞起后将糊椒粒去掉,将猪肚切成条状即可食用。其汤加些芹菜或香菜、盐等调料,也可食用。 |

(1) use water to rinse the rice 将米淘洗干净。(2) clean the bone and cut into small pieces (you might need the store to
cut for you) 猪骨洗净并敲成小块(去净骨渣)。(3) If peanut has skin, use hot water to soap and
remove the skin. 花生仁热水浸泡后剥去外皮。(4) boil the bone with water to make broth. Remove bone. Add in
rice and peanut. Cook with a small amount of cooking oil. If
the bone broth is not enough, add in some clear water to make
congee. Add salt and sesame oil to taste. 用猪骨煮汤,再取汤、米、花生仁加适量清水、植物油煮成薄粥,加入精盐、味精及香油调匀即可食用。 |

Silver Carp with Green Onion (help producing milk) 葱焖鲫鱼(产后催乳)

Silver Carp (1 piece about 1
lb) 鲫鱼1条(约500克) |

Sugar 10g, wine 15g, green
onion 75g, ketchup 20g, ginger 25g, soy sauce 25g, cooking oil 50g. 白糖10克,黄酒15克,葱75克,甜面酱20克,姜酱油各25克,食油50 克。 |

| Preparation: |
(1)clean the silver carp (remove scales and intestine if the store has
not done this for you). make a few shallow cuts on both sides of the
fish. marinate with soy sauce for 10 minutes. 将鲜鲫鱼去鳞鳃,剖腹去内脏,洗净,在鱼身两侧划几道斜刀花,用酱油10克拌匀,腌渍一会儿。(2)cut green onion into 5cm pieces. 葱切成5厘米长的段。(3)cut ginger into 2cm thin threads姜切成2厘米粗的丝。 |
| Cook (做法): |
(4)add cooking oil to wok and fry the fish until golden color on both
sides. Remove the fish. Add green onion and ginger. Fry
until the onion turn slightly yellow. Add the fish, ketchup, soy
sauce, sugar, wine and 200g water. Use high power flame to boil. Cover with lid
and turn down the flame power to low. Cook for 7-8 minutes.
Turn the side of the fish. Continue to cook and turn for another
10 minutes until the soup thickens. 锅放炉上,放入食油烧热,放鱼煎至两面呈金黄色时盛出。锅中留余油烧热,下葱段、姜丝,爆炒至葱变黄色时,加入甜面酱炒几下,放鲫鱼、酱油、白糖、黄酒和水(200克),大火烧开,盖上锅盖,改用小火焖烤7-8分钟,将鱼翻一次身,连续焖烤10分钟,至汤汁稠时即成。 |

green onion 5g. 精盐10克;姜丝、葱段各5克;味精3克。 |

(1)(if the store has not done this for you) remove
hair from pork foot, rinse with water, cut into small pieces.将猪蹄去净毛,清水洗净,用刀斩小块,待用。(2)Submerge
the tofu into salty water for 10-15 minutes. Pick up and rinse with
water. Cut into small pieces. 把豆腐放入盐水中浸泡10-15分钟,用清水洗净,切成小块,待用。(3)remove head and skin
from towel gourd, rinse with water, cut into thin slices. 将丝瓜削去老蒂头,清水中洗净,切成薄片,待用。 |
| Cook (做法): |
(4)Boil water (5 lbs) in a wok. Add mushroom
cook until soft internally. Add in Tofu, towel gourd, salt, ginger
and green onion. Boil a few minutes. Divide into several
meals. 将香菇置于洗净的锅中,加水约2500克,于炉火上煎煮,煮至内烂时,放入香菇、豆腐及丝瓜,并加入精盐、姜丝、葱段、味精,再煮几分钟即可离火。分数次食之。 |
